The problem

Beauty retail is about trust. A 568-SKU catalog with hand-modeled photography and slow-curated brand voice cannot be sold through a default e-commerce template. The original site was a stock theme that treated every product the same, hid the brand story under pagination, and pushed for a credit-card checkout on the first interaction. The result was catalog pages that looked like every other beauty shop in the country and a checkout that broke the editorial flow.

What I built

MECCA was rebuilt as an editorial single-scroll storefront. The home page is a hand-curated hero, the catalog is filterable by category (skincare, haircare, perfume, bath, sets), and the product page uses the same restrained typography as the brief. Mastershop pushed 568 SKUs into our database via the Shopify-compatible API, and a nightly job kept inventory in sync. When the client decided not to renew in 2026, the site was archived as a portfolio record — the architecture, the editorial design system, and the launch learnings are all preserved in this case study.
